About Us LillyPix Photography is a family-owned business located on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina in Morehead City. As natives of the area, we know the best locations and times for achieving the perfect portraits in this beautiful, pristine coastal environment. We're often told by our customers that we have captured the most beautiful, natural portraits they have ever had created. That is our goal and the highest compliment we can receive. Our specialty is Beach & Location Portraits of Children, Couples, Families, High School Seniors, Family Reunions, and Vacation Memories. We are available for location portraits in Atlantic Beach, Beaufort, Emerald Isle, Morehead City, Cape Carteret, Swansboro, Newport and surrounding areas. Please take a few moments to review the information below, and our Promotions section. PRE-PLANNING is key to successful portraits. Group portraits look best when everyone wears the same basic color scheme. Solids work better than prints. Light color shirts, like white, or pastels in blue, pink, yellow, or turquoise with khaki slacks are perfect for beach portraits. Navy or black shirts with khakis can also be nice. Bare feet are preferable, but be sure to wear sandals or shoes to the beach since the sand can be very hot. It is normally breezy at the beach, and your hair will blow. It's part of the charm of the beach, so simple, carefree hairstyles are best. Please bring bows or hair pins to keep hair out of your little girls eyes. Ladies should wear whatever makeup they normally use in the daytime. In general, less is more when it comes to beach portraits. Please note that sand will stick to your legs and any other areas on which you wear lotion. You can get ideas by clicking on Portraiture & going to the drop down categories, such as Children, Families, Teens & Young Adults, etcetera. THE SESSION. We schedule our Beach sessions to coincide with the best lighting which begins about an hour prior to sunset. Our sessions normally last around an hour, so you should plan to eat dinner or at least a snack beforehand. Please have babies and small children take a nap so they will be rested. We all love the beach because it's relaxing & fun, we want you to enjoy your session, and not stress about everything being perfect. Don't make a big deal about having portraits made with your children. Simply tell them you are all going to the beach to play with some new friends. The more relaxed you are about the session, the more relaxed they will be. Sessions include a variety of groupings, and each family determines which groupings it would like to have. We normally photograph the entire group, as well as individual family groups. Photographs of siblings together, and grandparents with all the grandchildren are also very popular. Our creation or session fees range from $75.00 for an individual to $150.00 for larger groups. Price lists are available upon request. In order to provide you with the best portraits, we must have everyone's full attention and cooperation. Children and adults can become distracted if there is more than one photographer trying to get their attention. These distractions interfere with and slow down the process, and since our sessions are scheduled to take advantage of the best lighting, such delays impact our ability to create the best portraits possible. Please make sure that everyone in your group is aware of this policy. Our REFLECTIONS OF CHILDHOOD, FAMILY BEACH MEMORIES, and VACATION MEMORIES Collections capture your family having fun at the beach, where every sunset provides a unique background. Whether it's your child playing in the sand, or chasing the waves at the edge of the shore, we capture these precious memories for a lasting reminder of fun times spent by the seashore. . FAMILY REUNIONS are another great time to have portraits made. Most families just don't get together that often anymore. So this is the perfect time to capture all of your loved ones in portraits. We love meeting families, each group is unique and determines the type of portraits we create. ATTENTION ALL HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS & SENIORS. Your SENIOR PORTRAITS are a time to have fun and let your personality shine. They should include special interests or activities. We want to know where you spend your time, and what activities you love. Another key element is location, so if you're a surfer, let's get some portraits of you at the beach with your surfboard. Athletes we want to take photographs of you on the football field, track field or whatever environment in which your sport/sports are played, not studio photographs with you just dressed in your sports gear.
